Today is 911

Today is 9/11 and I just want to say I haven't forgotten.

That is all.

No, Again

Last Friday, I ended up at a spur of the moment dinner out with the friend who brought the beer the day I slipped 60 plus days ago when I caved under pressure and had a taste instead of just saying no. Anyway, I hadn't seen her socially since and she still doesn't know I don't drink anymore.
She invited our family to have dinner with her family after a volleyball game. It wasn't a fancy dinner but of course there were cocktails, and even a wine list. In the past, the adults would have ordered all of everything. When my turn came I ordered diet coke. When my friend offered me a sip of her fancy drink, I said no. Two or three times. When they were deciding on a wine choice, I said I wasn't having any. (And no bottle(s) of wine were ordered!) And I had two or three refills of diet coke. The best part of the dinner was when my 14 year old daughter announced, "I'm so proud of you Mom!". My friend looked surprised but I think she got the message
This is getting easier!
